Greetings,

I am pleased to announce that we are ready to upgrade everyone located on our vps2.netwisp.com VPS server to a new server that is better suited for high performance VPS hosting. The new server is a Dell PowerEdge 2650 server that has dual 2.8 ghz Xeons, 6GB of RAM, and four 73GB SCSI drives in a RAID-5 array for redundant data storage. The server also has redundant power supplies and a DRAC interface to help ensure reliable operation. This is a more reliable server than your current server -- a dual 2.8 ghz RLX server blade with 4GB RAM and two 120GB IDE drives.

Once you're migrated to the new server, we'll also be able to migrate your VPSes to a new hardware node (such as when you need a more powerful VPS) while keeping your IPs. The current server doesn't allow us to migrate your VPS while keeping your IPs. So this will be the last IP change you have to make for the forseeable future. Plus we'll be able to provide you with high bandwidth and storage solutions as well for your VPS service should you need them.

In order to make this transition a smooth one, please open a ticket with us at www.netwisp.com/support/ or email us at support@netwisp.com (which will also open a ticket) with your name and VPS information. We will give you your new VPS IPs and arrange a time to copy your VPS over to the new server. Virtuozzo has a great migration tool so all of your data/passwords/and VPS settings will be properly transferred over to the new server. All you need to do is update your VPS/software/DNS with the new IPs. Its a fairly simple process.

Finally, please be aware that we will be cancelling the server at the end of the month (in 15 days). So please do not hesitate to contact us to get the process started. The sooner you open the ticket for the transfer, the more time we'll have available to make sure that there no DNS migration issues.

We will update this topic as needed when new information comes up regarding the migration.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and assistance in this matter!
