VPS Kernel Upgrade - October 7th, 2005

Greetings,

SW-Soft has released a new Virtuozzo 2.6.2 kernel which means we need to upgrade our VPS servers with it. The upgrade will start at 10PM CDT on Friday, October 7th. Please plan for 15-30 minutes of downtime while we install the new kernel and reboot the server with it.

Also, we will be enabling the kernel modules which will let you install more robust firewalls including the APF firewall on your VPS.

We will update this thread with the progress of the updates on Friday night.

All our VPS servers have had their kernel upgraded and have returned to operation after their reboot. Please contact us at support@netwisp.com if you notice any problems with your website and we'll be glad to assist you further.

Please also contact us if you wish to have the kernel modules enabled to allow for a more complex firweall like APF to be installed on your VPS.
