Please be advised that we are moving everyone on ensim2.netwisp.com to a new server at 12AM CDT Sunday morning. We expect the transfer process to take about 12 hours. The primary reason for the migration is to upgrade everyone to a faster, more powerful server with RAID protected storage that is located in our new private rackspace here in Chicago. This will allow us to offer a higher quality of service along with provide new services for everyone in the months ahead.

While your websites will not have any downtime from this migration, you may wish to close/disable any dynamic content sections on your current websites (like your forums) prior to the start of the move so that any updates (like new posts) aren't lost during the migration. You can then open them on the new server after the move so that as visitors start to arrive at the website on the new server, they'll see the sections reopened.

For our customers who have sites on the server, we will be sending you an email with your new IP information so that you can access your sites before the DNS switches over.

Finally we will update this topic during the migration to keep everyone informed with the status of the transfer along with any issues that come up.

Feel free to contact us at support@netwisp.com should you have any questions about this migration or would like to schedule a different time for the migration if Sunday morning will cause an issue for you.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter!

Greetings,

Here is an update on the migration of the ensim2.netwisp.com websites taking place today. So far the process has gone without any major problems, but it is taking a bit longer than we anticipated. So far about half the sites have been copied to the new server and we hope the rest will get transferred in the next 4-6 hours. When that happens, we'll switch the DNS over and traffic will be directed to the new server instead of the old one. We'll then address any issues that come up at that time.

I'll update this thread again when there is more information to pass along.

Thanks for your patience in this matter!

Greetings,

Here is the state of the transfer at 3PM CST, Sunday.

Unfortunatly, we ran into some problems today when we started to direct traffic to the new server after the site migration was done. A number of sites started having issues with MySQL and SpamAssassin that didn't come up during the testing of the server last week. So to avoid any lengthy downtime for everyone, we immediatly redirected traffic back to the old server until these problems can be resolved.

What this means is that the outside of the ten or so minutes traffic was directed to the new server, everything is back to the way it was. Your websites haven't changed and they're still being hosted on the old server.

Once the issues are resolved, we will update this thread with a new date and time for the migration as well as send out another email to everyone impacted.

If you have any questions about this issue, feel free to contact us via our helpdesk at www.netwisp.com/support and we'll be glad to assist you further.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter as we strive to upgrade your service.
